Blackberry Farm
Today

Over the past five decades, Blackberry Farm has evolved from a six-room country inn to a 68-accommodation Relais & Châteaux resort. Blackberry Farm now includes four iconic and award-winning restaurants, a luxurious spa, a larder and preservation kitchen, on-property garden and so much more.

While Blackberry Farm has grown significantly in 50 years, the heart and mission remain the same: legendary hospitality, memorable experiences and a commitment to generational sustainability.

Founders Sandy and Kreis Beall envisioned a property that not only celebrated the natural rhythms of the land — its four distinct seasons and the harvests they provide — but also prioritized its preservation. Under the visionary leadership of Sam Beall, Blackberry Farm deepened its connection to food and the land. Sam created a legacy that his wife, Mary Celeste, has continued with grace and innovation. Mary Celeste has infused her own passions while preserving the traditions that define Blackberry Farm.

What began with Kreis and Sandy has grown into a team of over 1,200. Guided by Mary Celeste and Matt Alexander, the team members and the leadership are who make the dream come to life day in and day out. Matt Wilcoxen, who serves as the general manager and vice president of hospitality at Blackberry Farm, has been with the team since 2003 and has been instrumental in overseeing operations and development, contributing significantly to Blackberry’s growth and reputation for excellence. Another key team member to Blackberry Farm’s success is Director of Guest Relations Brian Lee, whose Blackberry career began in 1995, when the Farm had only 20 employees, and whose passion for hospitality has helped shape the guest experience at every level.

For 50 years, Blackberry Farm has been about the way people feel when they leave: rested, invigorated and nourished from the inside out. It is a place that celebrates the best of what it means to gather, connect and recharge.

Recent awards underscore Blackberry Farm’s ongoing commitment to setting the standard in hospitality, cuisine and wellness. It has been named the #1 Favorite Resort in the South by Travel + Leisure World's Best Awards and the #1 hotel with over 50 rooms by the Andrew Harper Members’ Choice Awards. Its culinary and wellness programs have been celebrated with the Best U.S. Hotel for Food & Drink by Food & Wine Global Tastemakers, the Best Farm-to-Fork Fare by Modern Luxury Travel Awards, and a spot among the 10 Best Spa Resorts in the United States by Vogue's Global Spa Guide. These awards reflect Blackberry Farm’s ability to marry tradition with contemporary distinction, solidifying its reputation as a world-class destination.
